A+ Child Care & Learning Center offers pre-school to children 3 year olds and pre-K to 4 and 5 year old children in the Marysville, OH area. These programs are State of Ohio Department of Education Recommendations for children ages 3-5 years of age.
Our Preschool program is split into young and older 3 year old classrooms. Our young 3 year old class is seen as a transition time from toddler to preschooler. This classroom is a smaller grouping to allow for each child to transition to the preschool program at their own pace, while still meeting the child’s developmental needs. While the older 3 year old preschool room typically begins around the age of 3.5 years for most children. These rooms are a continuation of our preschool curriculum focused on the developmental needs of the children in each classroom. Our preschool program is a hands on child directed program based on the Kindergarten Readiness Skills set by the Ohio Department of Education. In these classes children are working on such skills as:
Our pre-kindergarten are for children 4 or 5 years of age. The focus of this room is very much kindergarten readiness. We follow the Kindergarten Readiness Skills set by the Ohio Department of Education for the basis of our curriculum. We are also working with Union County Early Childhood Development agencies and local school systems to ensure our preschoolers will be ready
for Kindergarten.
Our Pre-school Activities Include:
- Mastering counting to 25
- Recognition of the letters of the alphabet and their sounds
- Recognition of their first name
- Beginning writing skills
- Recognition of the primary colors and shapes
- Beginning math and science concepts
- Literature activities
- Social skills, short field trips and more
Our Pre-K Activities Include Working on Mastering:
- Counting to 50
- Recognition of both upper and lower case letters, as well as their sounds
- Recognition of their first and last name, writing their name, know their address and phone number
- Recognition of all primary colors and shapes
- PreK math and science skills
- Literature activities
- Social skills, field trips and more
All activities are done through age and developmentally appropriate where learning is fun and enjoyable for children.

Tonya Brenneman, Lead Older 3 year Old Preschool Teacher
Tonya is a graduate of North Garrett County High School. She is currently working on her CDA in Early Childhood Education and holds an Associate degree from Rosedale Bible College. Tonya has been a member of our staff for 4 years and has over years 12 of experience in the Early Childhood Education field. Tonya is resides in Rosedale and is an active member of her church.
Ryan Mulholland, Lead Young 3 Year Old Preschool Teacher
Ryan is a Scioto Valley High School. He is currently in the process of completing his degree in Early Childhood Education. He has over 5 years of experience in the Early Childhood Education field. Ryan is married with two children and is an active member of his church.
Linda Simkins, Lead Preschool Teacher
Graduate of North Union High School and is currently working on her CDA in Early Childhood Education. Linda had been a member of the A+ staff for over 10 years of experience working in the early Childhood Education field. Lind had been married for 21 years and has two great adult children. She is also a lifelong member of the Richwood community.

Sarah Powers, Lead 4/5 Preschool Teacher
Sarah is a graduate of Fairbanks High School and also holds a BS in Early Childhood Education from Urbana University. Sarah has been a member of the A+ staff for 2 years and has over 12 years of experience working in the Early Childhood Education field. Sarah and her husband reside in Marysville.
